Time Magazine All Time 100 Novels

In a recent search to find the All Time greatest books, I stumbled upon many lists. However I find this list pretty realistic and fair. Honestly I haven't read all the books on that Top Ten... This is my current quest :) Take a look at the complete list of All Time 100 Novels from 1923 to 2005. (Source)

  1. You know just that other day I was searching for the best book to read. I went through this list. For some reason I chose "Les Miserable" in the end. But hey, it's also an amazing book of the 1800's ;)

    1. True amazing book by a legend... considered the best book of the 19th century so you did choose a good book to read. I think it is tough to claim that particular books are the 100 All Time best, personal tastes is a huge factor. Personally I am a fan of George Orwell, and Animal Farm is a must read Zein :)

  2. Well said "the personal taste is a factor'. I read Orwell`s and Fitzgerald`s books from the list and they are of great value to me. I would "The Science Fiction of Edgar Allan Poe" by E.A. Poe. He is linguistically skilled.

If the list was covering a larger time period, I would also add J. Austen, Bernard Shaw, Dickens and of course without some non - English publications, the list would go off half-cooked.

    1. Also, it is important to note that the success of one's publication or book is sometimes based whether or not there is a screenplay or a movie. And if so, if it was any good. I am currently reading The Art of War by Sun Tzu and inspecting how it was used in modern wars (mainly WW2 and Vietnam). I hope to make an analogy between his teachings and how university students should change their strategies during their pre and post college years.
